"The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch
but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ."
-Saint John Paul II
Welcome! Now is the time to register for St. Michael's 2022/23 Religious Education program - we're glad you're here.
St. Michael's Religious Education Mission Statement:
The St. Michael's Religious Education Program exists to assist parents as the primary educators of their children in passing on the Catholic faith. Each child will grow in their personal relationship with Christ as they learn about the fullness of the Catholic faith.
The Diocese of Fargo has implemented new standards for religious education and has chosen a curriculum based on these standards. All parishes in the Diocese will be using Our Sunday Visitor's "Alive in Christ" series as the primary text for all grades K-8.
Religious Education classes meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm (all grades).
The first meeting, which will be opening Mass, this fall will be held in September 14th, 2022, 6:30 pm. Parents and students please meet in the church for the opening Mass.
In the Diocese of Fargo, 2nd graders receive the sacrament of Reconciliation and 3rd graders receive First Eucharist and Confirmation. In order to receive the Sacraments, your 2nd or 3rd grade child must either:
1.) Attend Wednesday night RE or
2.) Attend St. Michael's School or
3.) Receive faith formation during homeschool
4.) Attend parent/student sacramental preparation meetings and retreats
If you have a child that is older than 2nd or 3rd grade that has not received the Sacraments, please contact Jennifer Carlson, RE Director for Grades K-8.
